Migrate from standard tags
For existing stores, you can bulk-import the standard tags already on your products into multilingual tags.
- Open the app’s “Migration” page
- Choose what to do with existing multilingual tags
- Press “Start migration”
- Progress is displayed. You don’t need to keep the page open until it finishes
The two modes

| Keep them and add the standard tags | Keeps existing multilingual tags and adds the standard ones. Duplicates are merged |
| Replace them with the standard tags | Overwrites multilingual tags with the standard tags |
“Keep them and add the standard tags” is the right choice for a first run.
After migrating
Section titled “After migrating”Migration alone only gives you the default-language values. Continue with translating in Translate & Adapt.
You can track progress on the translation status page.
- No other job can start while one is running. Please wait for it to finish
- Large catalogs take a while. The process is safe to re-run if it is interrupted
- Only product tags are migrated. Collection and blog article tags are out of scope
